Back to Decatur

This weekend I headed back out to Decatur with my buddies Andy and Houston.  Within the first 10 minutes of walking around we saw a pig.  Andy raised and fired, he thinks he hit it on its hind quarter.  The hog took off and we chased it for while without any luck of finding it.

One of the blinds.

This is a video of us adding on to an existing blind on the property.

Andy and Houston scared of a little cow.

I caught this guy at one of the stock tanks out there.

Unfortunately, we didn't get a pig that day but we sure did have fun trying.

Mason Wheeler

My nephew, Mason Wheeler Smith turned one while I was up there and I got to attend his first birthday party.  Here's a little taste.

Winter Park Ski Bike and Snowboarding

While in the great state of Colorado I spent two days in Winter Park for some fun.  The first day I went ski biking. Ski biking was a little more difficult that I thought it would be.  The technique to stopping the bike without catching an edge was for me, hard to get my muscle memory not to lean in.  Leaning or shifting your body weight is a big no no and can be dangerous.  The man in the photos is Bryan Redding, my bad ass instructor.  This guy made ski biking look easy.  Ski biking is a super fun way to get down the mountain and I can see this sport really growing in the next couple of years.
My second day in WP I snowboarded and got some cool shots at the park.

Snowshoeing Echo Lake

While in Colorado I went snowshoeing for the first time.  I ended up going to Echo Lake for my snowshoeing adventure.  I wasn't sure what to expect and figured it would be like hiking.  It was just like hiking except way more challenging.  I chose Echo Lake the site I was looking at said it was a beginner trail and instead of the there being one trail at x amount of miles it was supposed to be open roaming.  It was cold that day and the wind was blowing, which ended being really cool to see the snow fly of the trees looking like fast moving fog through the wilderness and off of the surrounding peaks.  Snowshoeing was a lot harder than I imagined it to be and is a great way to get some exercise.  I'd recommend it to anyone.
