DISC GOLF PORTFOLIO

Disc golf might not be the first sport you think of when you think "action photography" — but spend one round on a wooded course with players who actually know what they're doing, and you'll change your mind fast.

The athleticism, the focus, the way a disc catches afternoon light mid-flight — it's all there waiting for someone with a camera and a fast enough shutter speed. This portfolio is a collection of my favorite shots from courses and tournaments, showing the sport the way it deserves to be seen.

1st Annual Boulder County Classic

You know that your really into something when you fall asleep thinking about it.  Lately I've found myself thinking about where to place the disc on off of certain tee pads, how to put around a tree, the shots that I did well on and the once that bounced off of trees and ended up deep in the woods.  Disc golf has pretty much become an obsession.  It's something that I strive to get better at and something that excites me. That's why I was honored to have the opportunity to cover the 1st annual Boulder County Classic Disc Golf Tournament at my home course, Wondervu DGC in Coal Creek Canyon.

Here are some of my favorite shots of the day and of course I had to follow Eagle McMahon for a while.

Hooked on Disc Golf

During this summer of Covid when gathering inside is irresponsible and soaking up more Vitamin D is responsible I took refuge in a great community and the fun sport of disc golf.  It started with me playing rounds with friends in Texas in the dark a few years back and squeezing in a round here and there.  Then a disc golf course opened up just minutes away from my house and I got hooked.

I just recently started bringing my camera and capturing this sport that I've become very fond of and here are some of my favorite shots.

Enjoy!
