My First Fly

I just wanted to share my first fly tied.
This Woolly Bugger now lines the dashboard of my car until needed.

My Addiction

Hello All,
My enabler and I went back to Trinity on Tuesday and of course had a great time as usual.  This time we put in by 6:30AM and fished until around 1.  When we first arrived there was a great layer of fog blanketing the river which made for a beautiful site and some cool pictures.   The fishing was slow but it was nice just to get out again.  Josh caught a few bait fish and one decent large mouth and I found a perch kingdom and landed 6 of em back to back to back.  All in all it was a great day to be a photographer and fisherman.

Cheers,

Another Day on the River

Once again we head out for another day of fishing.  This time Josh had heard some good reports coming in about the Trinity River just west of downtown Fort Worth.  We got out there around 3PM and fished till dark.  We had a great over cast from the clouds and the wind was a bit much but with some know how and a little luck we ended up catching some fish and having a great time doing it.  I caught 3 baby large mouths and couple of perch and Josh ended up with a perch and two whopper large mouths.  One was about 4 and the other 5lbs.  All in all it was a great day to be a fisherman.

Cheers,

Dustin Doskocil

Fly Fishing in Salida CO

Every year my best friend, Josh and I take a trip for our birthdays.  Mine is April 8th and his is on the 7th. I can't think of any better way to spend my birthday than with my best friend smack dab in the middle of nature.  This year we decided to head to Salida CO to fish for brown trout on the Arkansas River.  For me, this would be my first time to fly fish.  Sure I've thrown a line or two but usually I'm the photographer, not the fisherman.  It was extremely hard to put down the camera and fish but when I forced myself to, it was like magic.  It felt as though it was just me the fish and that river.  Nothing else in the world mattered.  While I didn't catch anything and only hooked one fish I did however come back with some cool pics.
Hope you enjoy.
