Roller derby is chaotic, physical, and absolutely electric to shoot. The speed, the contact, the expressions on the skaters' faces — there's no shortage of raw energy when these athletes hit the track.
I had the opportunity to photograph the Denver Roller Derby scene up close, and it did not disappoint. These images capture the grit and intensity of a sport that doesn't get nearly enough credit for how demanding it really is.
